Genre: Visual Novel, Adventure, Casual, Anime Perfect Gold – Yuri Visual Novel – In this short, coming-of-age yuri visual novel, play as Marion LaRue and Audrey Clary as they explore the magical city of Castlecoast and get a… For example: you’ve got typical snooty elders looking down on Marion for being a girl, yes, but their bigger beef is actually her being too poor for someone like Audrey.Perfect Gold – Yuri Visual Novel Free Download PC Game Cracked in Direct Link and Torrent. It definitely referenced how society (magic or otherwise) can frown on same-sex relationships, but it doesn’t make it an issue. Perfect Gold doesn’t remind you of any of that toxic discourse. While yuri and yaoi visual novels have been around long before the current age of online arguments about representation in gaming became heavy-handed, LGBTQ+ characters being “forced,” “I don’t want gender politics in muh games” and wokeness, some of you may be wondering how this game fits in. Perfect Gold is available on Steam for the low price of P250, and Yangyang Mobile has also made a beta demo available. Unlike Doki Doki Literature Club, these options always play out the way you expect without surprising twist reactions – it’s not just a yuri visual novel, it’s a relaxing one, too. Gameplay-wise, there are two endings and there is no maze of choices to acquire both.Ĭhoosing between two options per chapter is as complex as Perfect Gold gets. ![]() Choices will change the dialogue, but chapters always end the same way no matter which way you go. The same can’t be said for the background art though, which feels quite generic considering the setting. The writing implements magic things smartly for flavor – like Audrey’s scrying to keep track of their strict professor’s whereabouts – without going so deep that explanatory text dumps are required. Visually, the art is clean, the CG scenes are too cute, and the characters even get Live2D-esque movement rather than being static assets. Perfect Gold primarily focuses on the duo of Marion and Audrey and, in what is becoming Yangyang’s trademark, the voice actors do an excellent, energetic job of bringing them to life. Things move along nicely without any “Because I can’t tell you why, baka!!” moments to drag out the arguments for the sake of another chapter. It admittedly sounds very tropey when you read it in synopsis form, but there’s a lot of heart involved in the writing – being a short game probably helps Perfect Gold out in that regard. Since we only get one side of the story at a time, it doesn’t feel like retreading history to pad things out and there’s just enough mystery to hook you until the climax. We get to see how Marion and Audrey fall in love, then fall apart due to a conflict that isn’t revealed until later on. The actual, real-time story takes place during one sweet, sun-drenched afternoon at the school fair (about the time it’ll take you to finish the game) but Perfect Gold begins by rewinding a year into the past and alternates throwback chapters with current events. The VN’s perspective flips back and forth between the two leads, letting us witness their inner monologues in turns. Always prim and never flustered – that is until Audrey met a certain fire-bender. Of course, all that pressure to live up to has the effect of making her life feel like a societal prison. Meanwhile, Audrey Clary is the perfect heiress: popular, smart, and a talented alchemist – the favored class that literally makes Castlecoast go round by turning garden-variety metal into gold. She’s got yaeba teeth, so you all know what that means – Marion doesn't take shit from anyone. Marion LaRue hails from outside the big city of Castlecoast, and despite her outgoing personality, she is ostracized for hailing from a less-than-prestigious family and being an elementalist to boot – mages fit into a hierarchy you see, and people who play with plants aren’t that highly regarded. The classic mahou shoujo LeFay academy is the backdrop for this tale of young love. That’s the extent of how “pinoy” Perfect Gold is (which is not much). The “poor country girl meets the rich city girl plot” is a favorite in local Philippine telenovelas, but it’s also a well-worn structure in general. ![]()
